Habe heute angefangen Informationen zu den Anstrengungen der USA zu sammeln, den Westbalkan mit LNG-Pipelines zu überziehen. Die Pipelines werden weit mehr Gas liefern, als dort bisher gebraucht wird. Sie sind der eigentliche Hintergrund für den angekündigten Rückzug von Christian Schmidt als Hoher Kommissar in Bosnien-Herzegovina. Ein besonders krasses Beispiel für fossile Expansion in unserer Nähe und für die EU-feindliche Politik der USA.

@Haubentaucher Die Besitzer der Firma, die die Pipeline bauen soll, sind der Anwalt, der Trump wegen des Sturms aufs Kapitol verteidigt hat, und der Bruder des früheren Sicherheitsberaters Flynn. Die Firma wurde neu gegründet und wird namentlich im bosnischen Gesetz zum Pipelinebau genannt. Christian Schmidt ist wohl gedroht worden, ihn als Person auf eine amerikanische Sanktionsliste zu setzen. Er vermisst offenbar genug Unterstützung aus der EU. – Was mich aber noch mehr interessiert, ist dass die Pipeline in diesem Umfang nicht gebraucht wird, und dass sie zu einer Reihe ähnlicher Projekte gehört. Ich brauche lang, um sie zu lesen, aber sie sind sehr interessant. Die Westbalkanländer brauchen nur wenig Erdgas und könnten relativ leicht völlig unabhängig davon werden, werden aber mit allen Mitteln in die umgekehrte Richtung gedrängt. Die Berichterstattung bei uns ist auf die alten Konflikte fixiert und zeigt diese Zusammenhänge nicht auf – jedenfalls habe ich dazu noch nichts gefunden.

@Heinz @villon naja die kriegst du in Österreich auch auf die grüne Wiese. Google in Oberösterreich. Es geht wohl tatsächlich darum, möglichst viel Gas zu verkaufen. Absurd!

Oder wird das wieder in Rockefellermanier betrieben? Kostenlose Gasheizungen und Tanks auf dem Land und dann teueres Gas hinterher liefern? Ich muss zugeben, ih habe von deutscher Ökonomie schon wenig Ahnung und von der auf dem Balkan noch weniger.
