I would say (maybe taking it too seriously): This kind of measuring is pseudo-science, closely related to financial and management practices. Scientists know very well that the world is not a laboratory.

I’m n not taking this seriously. I know that I don’t „test“ well, especially in maths, so I did it more from curiosity. And given what testing days about their corporate culture…don’t need a toxic culture like that.
And well done, Rahel. I am no longer taking part in that competitive culture. I have consciously opted out. And I am in a fortunate position to do so, others are not that lucky.
And @heinz it’s a science that cannot and should not be applied to human beings.
And how will we convince the rest of the world to stop measuring?
I remember that my son wasn’t graded until 15 instead he got feedback and could say himself where he wants to improve. I was amazing to hear that a 6 year old child can already analyse his/her learning process.
I am speaking to people about it, just telling them about my experiences with it and giving them examples of how well people react to not being graded. And I keep on doing my ungrading. 🙂
Learning cannot be measured in numbers.
